NOV. 25
On 24 November, starting at 10:30 a.m., the second edition of the workshop Digital Humanities: metodologie e scenari possibili per la ricerca (Digital Humanities: Methodologies and Possible Scenarios for Research) will be held at the Università per Stranieri di Siena, in classroom 5C at Via dei Pispini 1. The event will offer an opportunity to present the University’s digital caveau and to discuss the potential of the Digital Humanities together with experts in the field from different institutions—including, in addition to the academic world, the Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo e la Documentazione (ICCD), Biblioteca Hertziana in Rome and Regione Toscana.
The workshop is part of the program of initiatives promoted by the PRIN PNRR Straniere: the reception of non-European arts and cultures in Italy (1945–2000), with P.I. Prof. Caterina Toschi. The project’s main objective is the creation of a digital archive—conducted in collaboration with CNR-ISTI and the Artificial Intelligence for Media and Humanities (AIMH) group—dedicated to the investigation, digitisation and annotation of visual and textual sources documenting how non-European arts and cultures were read, interpreted, paraphrased or presented in Italy from 1945 to 2000.
Organising committee: Livia de Pinto, Biancalucia Maglione, Rachele Zanone.
